It started with a wrong turn and a shared map — and became a whole life pointed toward the same horizon.
The First Date
We meant to get one coffee. Four hours later the café was closing around us and neither of us had touched the second cup. Everett walked Margot home the long way, just to make the evening last.

The Years Between
Then came the good, ordinary years — airports and altitude, long drives and longer trails, a small cabin with a wood stove and far too many coffee mugs. We learned each other slowly, and every goodbye only sharpened the next hello.

The Question
Golden hour, a quiet bend of the Snake River, the Tetons going pink behind us. Everett had rehearsed a speech for weeks and forgot every word of it. Margot said yes before he found them — of course she did.
